A Historic Venue With Modern Amenities
The William B. Bell Auditorium, or lovingly dubbed “The Bell”, is a historic venue known for hosting a wide range of concerts, and the first time for hosting 2 nights of Guitar Pull. Originally opened in 1940, the 10,000-square-foot auditorium was one of the largest and finest municipal auditoriums of its kind and named after the current mayor. Today, it’s part of the James Brown Arena complex and has become a staple in the local entertainment scene.
With a seating capacity of nearly 2,700, the Bell Auditorium offers an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect setting and alternative for Guitar Pull this year. Its central location in Augusta makes it easily accessible, and the nearby restaurants and attractions add to its appeal as a top entertainment destination in Georgia.
Seating Arrangements
The Bell Auditorium features an event arena with 2,690 seats. Its tiered theater-style seating arrangement ensures excellent acoustics. Every guest has a great view of the proscenium stage, regardless of where they sit. Accessible seating is available on the floor and there are no elevators, so balcony seating is not ADA-friendly.
Facilities & Concessions
At The Bell Auditorium, your comfort is the top priority. The venue is equipped with a host of amenities, including concessions and snacks and well-equipped, clean restrooms. During the event, you can enjoy a selection of food and beverages, from hot dogs to beer, along with a variety of Guitar Pull Merchandise.
Parking & Transportation
The Bell Auditorium is located on Telfair Street in Downtown Augusta. The event space offers convenient parking options for Guitar Pull attendees in parking lots on 7th Street or 8th Street behind the Auditorium and is complimentary on a first-come first-serve basis, thanks to our friends at Gerald Jones Automotive Group. Accessible parking is available in the 7th Street parking lot and at the Bell Auditorium itself. The entrance to the theater is wheelchair-friendly with a ramp available near the Box Office.
Clear Bag Policy In Effect
The Bell Auditorium is committed to providing a safe, secure environment for patrons and performers. Guests are advised that all persons entering the venue and their belongings are subject to be searched. All patrons are limited to one 12″ x 12″ x 6″ clear bag and no larger than one 8.5″ x 5.5″ hand held clutch. Bags larger than 8.5″ x 5.5″, packages, backpacks, briefcases, cameras, or recording devices are not permitted inside the Theater. No weapons, including pocket knives, or outside food or drinks are allowed.
Other Considerations & Accessibility Features
Once inside the theater, please turn off your phones and beepers. Please note that cameras or recording devices are not allowed inside the Theater. The Bell Auditorium is a smoke-free facility. If you need special accommodations, such as assisted listening devices or sign interpreters, you’ll need to request it 72 hours in advance. We also recommend arriving early as ADA parking lots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guide dogs or service animals are permitted, but please let the Box Office know.
